How do I copy an official usage reading into a personal reminder?
How to Check Codex Usage & Reset Times
Start in the account or workspace where the task ran. Record the allowance and its displayed reset time before creating a reminder. This guide takes you from an official reading to a personal countdown without connecting your account to Reset Radar.
Check the official usage view
For the web or desktop experience, open Settings and locate usage information, or use the official usage dashboard. OpenAI's account guide directs users to these views for the affected allowance, balance, and available reset information. The labels and available details can differ by account or client.
Before reading a meter, confirm the account or workspace name. Then copy the allowance label exactly into a private note. Include whether the meter says used or remaining; “20%” by itself leaves an important ambiguity.
Check from an active CLI session
Inside an interactive Codex CLI session, enter:
/status
This is a command in the Codex conversation interface. It is not a PowerShell or terminal-shell command. The official command reference documents the session status view, and the pricing guide points to it for remaining limits. Read whatever information your current client actually returns.
A successful sign-in check answers whether authentication worked. It does not, by itself, give you the allowance or deadline needed for a reminder. If the status view does not show a usable time, consult the account usage view instead of inventing a date.
Turn the reading into a reminder
- Copy the complete deadline. Include the date, time, and source time zone. Keep the account details in your private note, not in the timer.
- Open the personal timer. Enter the date and time, then select the zone in which that time was expressed.
- Compare both displays. Check the selected-zone time and the equivalent time in your browser's zone. A different hour can be correct; a different instant is not.
- Save and inspect the result. Read the storage status. If your browser cannot save locally, the current countdown is not a durable saved reminder.
- Export if useful. Download the one-time calendar file, import it into your calendar, and inspect the resulting date, time, and notification settings.
Reset Radar stores one timer in your browser. It does not fetch account usage or keep several independent allowance reminders. Choose the deadline you need to recheck next, and return to the official view when it arrives.

You never need to provide Reset Radar with a password, cookie, API key, or account screenshot. Exporting a file alone does not enable calendar notifications. After editing a saved timer, revisit any calendar event you previously imported.
