Which reset time should I trust for my account?

When Does Codex Reset?

Use the reset time shown for the affected allowance in your own account. A public announcement describes an offer or event; it does not tell you when your personal countdown should end. The useful question is: which time belongs to the limit stopping this task?

Find the time that belongs to your account

Open your Codex Settings or usage dashboard and identify the exhausted allowance and any displayed reset time. OpenAI points users to those account views for this information. See Using Codex with your ChatGPT plan.

Before copying anything, write a short note: account or workspace, allowance label, displayed date, time, and time zone. You do not need to share that note with Reset Radar. Keeping these details together prevents a screenshot from one workspace becoming a reminder for another.

If several rows show different deadlines, read the message that interrupted your work alongside those rows. Do not simply choose the earliest time. If the connection between the message and the rows is unclear, keep the time unconfirmed until you can identify the relevant allowance.

Decide what a time actually means

Use this comparison as a reading checklist:

Information you foundWhat to check before using it
A deadline in your current accountThe allowance label, date, and displayed zone
A friend's screenshotWhether it belongs to the same account; ordinarily it does not
A public announcementIts eligible users and whether it describes an automatic reset or a saved benefit
An old calendar reminderWhether you have rechecked the account since creating it

Banked resets require the recipient to apply them, while automatic resets affect the eligible limits directly. OpenAI distinguishes these in its banked reset explanation. Read an announcement as evidence about that event, then return to your account for a personal deadline.

Enter a date and a time zone together

Use the Codex reset timer once you have a complete time. Choose the source time zone, then compare the tool's selected-zone and browser-zone displays before saving.

Hypothetical example: suppose a deadline is June 15, 2030 at 18:00 in Asia/Tokyo. Enter that date, time, and zone. The corresponding UTC time is June 15 at 09:00. This is a conversion example, not an OpenAI schedule or a prediction. Replace every value with your own information.

Do not interpret a missing zone as UTC. If an account only gives relative wording, such as a duration, return to the official view for clearer timing rather than treating a rough calculation as a verified deadline.

Avoid the common timing mistakes

  • Copy the calendar date as well as the hour; midnight can put another viewer on a different date.
  • Select the source zone before confirming the conversion.
  • Recheck a saved reminder after any account action that may change the displayed deadline.
  • Treat the timer reaching zero as a prompt to look, not as proof of restored access.

For the complete recording workflow, use How to check Codex usage. If the displayed time has arrived and your task still cannot proceed, follow the limit-reached checklist with the current message and account details.
